Hi

looking for any information about Cumballa War Hospital 1916/17, particularly any photographs.

Kind regards

Lyn

I believe (but could be wrong) that this was the Parsis TB Sanitorium situated on Cumballa Hill, Bombay (Mumbai) which had previously been used as a War Hospital during the South African (Boer) War.

Sorry it's years later, but one photo is here:

the hospital was on Malabar Hill, along with an officers' hospital.

In 1917-18 many Australian nurses served in this hospital, replacing British regular nurses who went to Mesopotamia.

cheers

Kirsty
