Barry Williams Posted 5 May , 2004 Share Posted 5 May , 2004 Hello, I am researching our village war memorial (Shotton Colliery, Durham UK) Of the 226 parishioners who fell during WW1 only one served with the RAF ie 2nd Lieutenant T E Brewer of 55 Squadron who according to the cwgc. was lost on the 12th June 1918 and is buried in Charmes Military Cemetery France. Please can any of you more accomplished historians, offer any further information? Thank you, Barry.
Dolphin Posted 5 May , 2004 Share Posted 5 May , 2004 Barry First of all, welcome to the Forum. Lt Thomas Elison Brewer was the observer in DH4 A7650 of No 55 Sqn, Independent Force, RAF, flown by Lt Max Greville Jones MC (formerly 1st Northumberland Fusiliers) when they were shot down by an enemy two-seater photographic reconnaisance aircraft during a height test over Cheneurières on 12 June 1918. I hope this helps.
