paul guthrie Posted 4 May , 2004 Share Posted 4 May , 2004 The camera returns, one of my favorite things about this wonderful magazine is at Abele & story mentions the cemetery just in France. Plot 1 is empty, there were about 80 US graves, most or maybe all from 27 & 30 Division killed about Spetmeber 29 near Vierstraat where the monument is. They were moved to Waregem In Flanders Field Cemetery, perhaps some were returned to US as were about 70% of known dead.
Piglet Posted 6 May , 2004 Share Posted 6 May , 2004 Paul, Abele Aerodrome was one of the cemeteries designed by GH Goldsmith (See my earlier attempt to start a thread on this). Is there anything about him in this article? Stuart
