Terry what happened? The men were killed about the same time, how were so many lost?

Paul

The Pozieres Memorial is for men lost on the Somme in 1918 and so they are all bound to have died around the same time.

The men seem to have been killed during the German offensive launched 21st March 1918

My great-uncle disappeared off the face of the earth in that area at the same time, but has been commemorated at Pozières from the beginning. It's therefore especially gratifying to see these 'forgotten' men brought in from the cold. Congratulations as ever to the volunteers and the IFTC project.
