Lucy Pitt Posted 17 November , 2009 Share Posted 17 November , 2009 Can anyone tell me anything please about the uniform that the gentleman is wearing in this photo? It was taken in December 1918. He is Thomas Garside born 1883 in England, married in NZ in 1912. I had no idea he was in the military until this photo surfaced so any information would be gratefully received! Many thanks in advance

6th Hauraki KIA KAHA Posted 17 November , 2009 Share Posted 17 November , 2009 It looks like a expeditionary force badge used by later reinforcements. I had a look on Auckland War Memorial Cenotaph Data base It on came up with these names under that surname. He may have fallen into some usual category and be listed elsewhere? Or the other option he did not make it out of New Zealand. 1 Garside Archer 24488 World War I, 1914-1918 2 Garside Crowther Private 6/2137 World War I, 1914-1918 3 Garside James William Ferrier Private 453700 World War II, 1939-1945 4 Garside Joseph Ferrier 29764 World War I, 1914-1918 On photo postcard, is any thing written or photographers name to give the location it was taken?
