Justin Moretti Posted 3 May , 2004 Share Posted 3 May , 2004 Does anybody know of a decent WW1 simulation game for the PC? 1) Strategy oriented. Concentrates on land warfare. Not a 1st person perspective shooter. 2) Not a limited-perspective game like the "Command & Conquer" type interface, but duplicates the traumas and dramas of corps-level command or above, i.e. one can direct infantry/cavalry and artillery units without needing to manipulate individual men, horses or guns. 3) No obsessiveness with resource-building; you just work with what the computer issues you. 4) "Either side" capability would be nice. I guess what I'm looking for, to those who have played both games, is something in between "command and conquer" and the old Commodore 64 game "Theatre Europe." 6) Realistically models the problems and issues of trench warfare. Any ideas, anyone?
DirtyDick Posted 3 May , 2004 Share Posted 3 May , 2004 New game 'Entente' is talked about on other threads; it's got mixed reviews. Also, there is a 19th-20th C colonial game called 'Victoria ... something', where you can fight against your opponents. Cheers Richard (Wasn't there a WW1 battle scenario game out a few years ago (c. '96-'97?)).
