roughdiamond Posted 14 October , 2009 Share Posted 14 October , 2009 I was looking at NA MIC's for someone and in one case a soldier listed as Sergt on CWGC had Sergt and Captain on his MIC, on a 2nd one, a Soldier listed as Private on CWGC had Pte and Sergt on his MIC. Did the CWGC not list a higher rank if it was temporary? Sam

Matt Dixon Posted 15 October , 2009 Share Posted 15 October , 2009 I don't think so, buried near Loos is Captain Phillip Wainman who was a Brevet Major at the time of his death, but his rank is recorded on his headstone as Captain.
John_Hartley Posted 15 October , 2009 Share Posted 15 October , 2009 CWGC (and its predeccessor - IWGC) will have recorded whatever was passed to it by the service arm.
