PhilB Posted 26 April , 2004 Share Posted 26 April , 2004 On a recent string I mentioned Haig`s gravestone at Dryburgh Abbey as being of a rich red stone with 4 or 5 regimental crests. I recall that during my visit the caretaker told us that the grave had been for many years the object of vandalism from people who deemed him responsible for unwarranted deaths and suffering. By the time of my visit, in the 80s, they seem to have subsided. Can any local members confirm or otherwise? Phil B
Neil Burns Posted 26 April , 2004 Share Posted 26 April , 2004 Hi Phil, I'm no local by any stretch of the imagination but I was there in May of 2002 and there was no evidence of vandalism. Take care, Neil
