haworthnick Posted 25 September , 2009 Share Posted 25 September , 2009 Please can someone help me as well as give me the severe reprimand I deserve. I was given my great grandfather's Great War victory medal before I was interested in the Gt war, I then thought it would be good for a design project at work and subsequently encased it in resin, i then had a change of heart and tried to chisel the resin off. To be blunt I've made a complete pigs ear of the whole thing, and have got a medal with chiseled resin on it, can anyone give me any suggestions that would remove the resin but not damage the medal. Steve Gullick Posted 25 September , 2009 Share Posted 25 September , 2009 Try some acetone - you can get it from a chemist. Should not affect the metal, but keep it away from any sort of plastic.
