Remembered Today:

Anzac Memorial Service Cannock Chase

Greenwoodman

Recommended Posts

In bright spring sunshine, and to the background sound of Willow Warblers singing, Anzac Day, and the young men buried in the cemetery, were commemorated at the CWGC cemetery at Cannock Chase. Wreaths were laid by the Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire, and by an Australian Army major, seen here after just placing his wreath.

Local MPS were invited but none attended.

Well done Richard for getting that photo on so quickly. It was indeed very moving again this morning. I have been to every service for about the last 14 years and it amazes me every year at the attendance, even last year when the weather was so awful. The Padre is truly a special man and always manages to say something special. Would be nice to see a bigger WFA contingent there some time.

Thanks for showing the photo Richard. It's good to see memorial services that take place in other countries.

I would like to get to a Anzac Day service outside of Australia one year.

Cheers

Andrew
