caroline@linkagecomputing.co.uk Posted 22 September , 2009 Share Posted 22 September , 2009 I came across this mans papers on Ancestry whilst looking for someone else. Edward Waller was in receipt of a pension at the time of his death being no longer physically fit suffering from Pulmonary Tuberculosis, which was attributed to his service. He died on 20/06/1920. I cannot seem to find his commemoration would he not have qualified? His papers are all on Ancestry and in a very clear condition and clearly show the above information. Thank you Caroline
Terry Denham Posted 22 September , 2009 Share Posted 22 September , 2009 His death certificate will be needed to find out. If his cause of death was TB, he would qualify. If he fell down stairs or had some other cause, he would not. To qualify after discharge, the cause of death must be attriburable to service during the qualifying period. The certificate will usually provide the required link.
chrisharley9 Posted 22 September , 2009 Share Posted 22 September , 2009 Caroline does his service records actually state that he died from TB - if not you will have to obtain his death certificate to be sure Chris
caroline@linkagecomputing.co.uk Posted 22 September , 2009 Author Share Posted 22 September , 2009 Thank you for replies although it says on the death notice that he was admitted to a sanatorium for TB and subsiquently died it does not say where he was admitted or that the death was from TB. So I will have to add it to my death Cert list. Thank you you do a great job with your helpful replies. Caroline
