tjpatti Posted 22 September , 2009 Share Posted 22 September , 2009 Thanks for sharing these pictures, Kevin. I think you posted a thread saying you were visiting Alrewas and did anyone want any photos; unfortunately for me I came to it too late. In 2000 I sent a donation to help towards the cost of the SAD memorial and unexpectedly received back a letter by way of thanks and telling me 'my' soldier is No. 8, William Edward Anderson. I would have liked a picture of his memorial post. Now that my children are all grown up, I have the time to develop other interests and earlier this year I started to look into who exactly William Edward Anderson was and what small part he played in the Great War and how he came to be shot at dawn. My new hobby has taken over my life and I have a lever arch file jam-packed with information; my husband grumbles about the time I spend on it and says he hopes to see a book come out of all this research. I don't know, I think a lot has been written and said about the SADs and possibly people are now a little jaded. Anyway, thanks again for sharing your photgraphs. Regards Teresa
