Lance Corporal Thomas Noden

For the last three years I have been researching the life of my Great Uncle Thomas Noden who was sadly killed in WW!. When starting to find out about his death it was disappointing to find that he was not listed on the CWGC site. After collecting evidence about his service and death I submitted it to the CWGC for his name to be included.

Yesterday on the anniversary of the outbreak of WW2 I received a letter from them to say that the Ministry of Defence have approved his commemoration and his name will be engraved on the Pozieres Memorial in addition his details have now been included on the CWGC website.

In Memory of

Lance Corporal THOMAS NODEN

46600, 4th Bn., North Staffordshire Regiement

who died age 27

on 26th March 1918

Thanks for the information. I wondered who put him forward.

GWF remembered him a couple of days ago here...

Well done. I am sure you are pleased with the outcome.

Terry,

I submitted his details to the CWGC site earlier this year with supporting evidence of Red Cross letters, death certificate, service record (one of the lucky ones to survive in the 'burnt papers') so am very pleased to have achieved his inclusion on the memorial.

I had help in some of the research on his war record from members on this site and wanted to record his inclusion on here.
