cameldriver Posted 27 August , 2009 Share Posted 27 August , 2009 Hello I'd like to ask for help with those who possess greater expertise than myself. I have been offered a Prussian Observer's Badge. It is of the multi-piece, ray back type. One question that I have concerns the red enameling. The enamel is of a shimmery, almost translucent quality, not a flat color like the black and white on the badge. Most other badges that I have seen have had red enamel of a flat red color. Has anyone seen the type of enameling I described on any period pieces. All thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Robert
