o j kirby Posted 27 August , 2009 Share Posted 27 August , 2009 Hello, This might be a daft question! I am just wondering if certain badges with a long period of production can be dated. I am wondering if, for instance, a King's crown Royal Artillery badge from WW1 has any characteristcs that date it? Were there any economy versions in, for example, thinner brass, or even a slightly different pattern? Cheers Owain.
jay dubaya Posted 27 August , 2009 Share Posted 27 August , 2009 Owain, only the crown on an artillery cap badge would give a date which doesn't really help. They came in gilding-metal for ORs and bronze for officers and there were also white-metal variants worn on certain headdress, cheers, Jon
