asdarley Posted 26 August , 2009 Share Posted 26 August , 2009 Three RAF officers and dog...I think! Taken in 1918 However, the chap on extreme right although sporting Observers wing appears to still have a regimental collar dog. Was this a common occurrence? Or am I mistaken? squirrel Posted 26 August , 2009 Share Posted 26 August , 2009 Unless Commisioned directly in to the RFC, Officers came from many regiments. Wearing their Army uniforms with "Regimental" distinctions was the norm with Pilot or Observer wings added. He is wearing a cuff rank jacket. per ardua per mare per terram Posted 26 August , 2009 Share Posted 26 August , 2009 Between 1918-19 a variety of uniforms were common for men in the RAF, reflecting army regiments and the navy too.
Copper6197 Posted 27 August , 2009 Share Posted 27 August , 2009 Anybody got any idea of the collar dog. It looks like it could be West Ridings or West Yorkshires. George
