Brindlereo Posted 24 August , 2009 Share Posted 24 August , 2009 Hello all. I am a new member to the forum and was wondering if someone could help me with an ID on this pin and cockade. I believe them to be from the Great War Period or at least related to this period. Thanks Mark
James Blonde Posted 24 August , 2009 Share Posted 24 August , 2009 Hallo Brindelereo welcome to the forum, the pin in my opinion can be classed as one of the many pieces of "Patriotika" that was common to the WW1 period, this piece might fall into the "sweet-heart" jewelery category, given by an Iron Cross winner to Wife, Girlfriend or Mother. Any chance to see a picture of the rear? The cap cockade I will leave to others here more competent in that area. Connaught Stranger.

dutchbarge Posted 25 August , 2009 Share Posted 25 August , 2009 No one recognize the cockade? Thanks Mark The kokarde (cockade) looks to be an officer's schirmutze (visor cap) kokarde for the Hanseatic State of Lubeck. If you find one for Hamburg (a red iron cross form instead of Lubeck's red maltese cross form) let me know! Cheers, Bill
