Could German enlisted men wear private purchase Jack Boots and Private purchase visor caps ?.I know that they were allowed to wear corduroy trousers Iam interested in WW1 German reenactment and would be grateful for more info.

It may have depended on the commander of the unit. Based on photographic evidence enlisted men could wear entire private-purchase uniforms if they chose. I have photos of flamethrower troops, for example, wearing totally non-regulation privately tailored jackets. I assume that other units allowed their men such leeway, while other commanders may have prohibited it.
