Sue Light Posted 4 August , 2009 Share Posted 4 August , 2009 That fountain is still exactly the same. But I can never hear Cliveden mentioned without first thinking of Christine Keeler and John Profumo Sue

June Underwood Posted 4 August , 2009 Share Posted 4 August , 2009 I was there last week, so it was great to see the photos. The tower on the left of the top photo looks as though it has recently been re-gilded. There is a War Memorial plaque on the outside of the Chapel for the 15 staff who died. 13 were in the Royal Berks Regiment. The photo has been added to our website - see below - but I haven't been able to identify all the names yet. Can anyone help please? Apparently Lord Astor encouraged his staff to enlist in the Royal Berks (30 of them did so) and promised to pay their wages and keep their jobs open for them.
