Petroc Posted 30 July , 2009 Share Posted 30 July , 2009 Dear all, Could anyone provide me with a summary of the movements and locations of the 59th Division's RFA Brigades during the latter half of 1917 and throughout 1918? Of particular interest would be the movements and engagements of 296 Brigade RFA during this period. Many thanks, Andy
ColinY43 Posted 30 July , 2009 Share Posted 30 July , 2009 Andy The Long Long Trail (top left this screen!) gives a very substantial breakdown which may fit your needs. Cklick on http://www.1914-1918.net/59div.htm for direct access. Hope this helps Colin
ColinY43 Posted 30 July , 2009 Share Posted 30 July , 2009 Andy The CCXCVI (296!) are reported on the LLT also... CCXCVI Territorial Force 2nd Line 59th Division from formation in February 1915 to November 1918. Originally designated 2/2nd North Midland Brigade. Originally A,B and C Batts. Late May 1916 joined by 2/1st Essex RHA, which took designation D. Latter left 19 July 1916, replaced by B (H) Batt from CCXCVIII. You may find other info on Google or Wiki! Petroc Posted 30 July , 2009 Author Share Posted 30 July , 2009 Thanks for the replies, Colin, but I'd already checked the LLT and have (albeit briefly) done a few web searches too....with a bit of luck there might be a TF or North Midland expert on the forum who might be able to expand. Thanks again, Andy
