It shows a monkey sharing the trenches with the 6th Battalion (Territorials) The Sherwood Foresters in the Kemmel Sector during 1915. Obviously not the Regimental mascot the Derby Ram would be safely bedded down in blighty. The monkey is not mentioned in the Battalion history or war diary, sent up with the rations i wonder!!!.
