John_Hartley Posted 24 July , 2009 Share Posted 24 July , 2009 A bad day for 22nd Manchesters. They pretty much ceased to exist for a while. I've done some research in connection with a couple of my Stockport chaps (not Barker). Some details on my website: here NOT FORGOTTEN John
stiletto_33853 Posted 24 July , 2009 Share Posted 24 July , 2009 Great job, well done all. There does seem to be a fair few coming in from the cold in the past week or so, well done to the team involved, hat off to you all. R.I.P. Andy
John_Hartley Posted 24 July , 2009 Share Posted 24 July , 2009 There does seem to be a fair few coming in from the cold in the past week or so, Andy These are all cases that we had identified in the early stages of the project but had to wait until we got the MoD funding for the death certificates. So, all of the several hundred in our backlog were eventually submitted to CWGC over a few weeks. I think Terry sent off 50 every two days, so as not to overload staff at GRO, CWGC and MoD. These are the cases that are now startng to come out the other end of the process with a commemoration. John
