Ron Clifton Posted 20 July , 2009 Share Posted 20 July , 2009 Hello Dianne Just you give you a bit more background, these officers were usually of the rank of Major. The senior RAMC officer with a division was the Assistand Director of Medical Services (a lt-col) and the DADMS was his staff officer. Corps had a Deputy Director and Armies a Director. In these higher HQs there were one or more DADMS, usually having a special responsibility (sanitation, ambulance trains etc) and often doubling as the medical officer for the officers and men of the HQ - their GP, as it were!
