perce620 Posted 15 April , 2004 Share Posted 15 April , 2004 during the early 90's I was stationed at benbecula in the outer hebrides, and during a conversation with one of the locals it came round to the fact I collected and researched military stuff, He told me of a grave on one of the outer Isles to a Uboat man and on his next trip he took photos of it for me. The photos went into the archive and got left. During my last sort out I found them again and at last started doing the research, the german wargraves commision had no knowledge of the grave so Ive given them the location and they are going to assess wether to move the grave or not but at least they will change their info so the following Ubootmann has a resting place Uboot Obermachinist Otto Schatt SMU-110 killed 15 March 1918. 110 was attacked and destroyed by HMS Micheal and HMS Moresby in the Atlantic.
