Dai Bach y Sowldiwr Posted 16 January , 2018 Share Posted 16 January , 2018 I see that in the Tatler article (August 1915), she is loyally described as the wife of Major R. Abingdon Bayly. We can presume then that at the time of publication she had received no reply to her 'Dear Bill' letter although in fairness, that was only in June. As for being told a load of bunkum* by a 'psychic' about her husband's disappearance...... * Insert own choice of word starting B*

IPT Posted 19 October , 2020 Share Posted 19 October , 2020 I wonder if G. Keen, described as a wounded officer, was an alias? The other co-respondent in the divorce was "Alistair J Caird", which could be Major Alister James Henryson-Caird M.C., 3rd KOSB. He was reported as wounded in the shoulder in October 1914, and was recovering in hospital in Dover.
