tiswot Posted 5 July , 2009 Share Posted 5 July , 2009 Hi I have been told about a friend's grandfather who joined up when he was very young as a bugle boy? He then went and fought for the 'Indian Army'. Does anyone have any ideas where I can research further, I haven't found anything so far. Ancestry UK has been thoroughly combed but without sucess. The gentleman's name is Henry May, he was born in 1893 in Deal, Kent. Thanks Liz
tiswot Posted 5 July , 2009 Author Share Posted 5 July , 2009 I've also found a link to the RMLI - so posted in ships and navies forum as well.
Dave Greenall Posted 5 July , 2009 Share Posted 5 July , 2009 Liz, I've had a look on Ancestry for you and can only find 1 Henry May that fits the bill but he was born in 1891 in Deal, Kent Parents Henry John May and Ellen Jnae Betts, is this him? Do you know what his service number was as I've found 121 possibilities on the Medal Record Cards section? David
