I have just come across this Holmfirth officer. I would be grateful for any further information. I have not come across this man before. Here is what I found earlier:

Henry Clement Shaw was born at Holmfirth in 1891, where he went to school; he became apprenticed to a chemist 1913. During the war he served first in the Medical Corps and subsequently as an Officer in the Artillery where he fought in the battles of Ypres and Passchendale. He was twice Mentioned in Dispatches. After the end of the war he went to work as a partner at Cornwell’s Chemists, in Hanley, Staffordshire.

Medal card of Shaw, Henry Clement - Royal Field Artillery - Lieutenant

That is all I have. Any little snippet will be useful to me.

Thanks,

Tony.
