I read some years ago in a book by a man who recalled when he was a boy during WW1 watching German pows in patched field grey excercising on the sands at Moreton in Wirral, Cheshire. Does anyone know where their camp was sited?

I can reply to my own question now that I discovered some info. in a book on old Wirral. German prisoners of war were housed in Leasowe Castle during 1917-18.
