Hi Pals,

This is a question for our Canuck friends. Does anyone know of any surviving veterans from the 43rd or the 75th Battalions? If there are could you give me their names please?

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike:

As of about seven months ago there were only 12 CEF Great War vets still with us. There was only one from either the 43rd or 75th Battalions:

Name: Clifford Holliday

Rank: Private

Service: 43rd Battalion, CEF

Present Location: Gardena California

Hi Garath,

Thankyou so much, you have turned up trumps again for me. If you ever need anything from my area i'll only be too glad to do it for you. I'm in Oxfordshire, England.

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike:

Just had a look at Clifford Holliday's attestation papers. He enlisted on February 3, 1915 with the 43rd Battalion. His regimental number (421006) falls in the middle of the block assigned to the 43rd, 420001-422000. It looks like he may have been an original with the battalion.
