jay dubaya Posted 20 June , 2009 Share Posted 20 June , 2009 The following is taken from Michael Young's 'ASC' The company was formed on 2nd January 1916 and disbanded on 13th June 1919. Based in London and undertook the roll of 3rd Kite Balloon Section (MT) and 31st Local Auxiliary (MT) Company (Railway Assistance). Sadly no diary exists for the unit. cheers, Jon

per ardua per mare per terram Posted 21 June , 2009 Share Posted 21 June , 2009 Kite balloons made quite a few demands on motor transport shuch as the winches and several vehicles needed to transport one balloon and its attendent kit. Not sure what was involved in Railway Assistance.
