Peter and Ellen Posted 12 June , 2009 Share Posted 12 June , 2009 Was at Fromelles today and Pits 7 and 8, which were open two days ago have now been filled in. When last there, the Unexploded Ordnance worker was in Pit 7 with his metal detector. Ground level was at his chest height which would suggest that the he would have been at the bottom of the Pit. Was told by an employee of Oxford Archeology that the Ordnance worker's insurance policy cost 600 Euro per day.....ouch! I feel that the rapid refilling of the Pits is suggesting that they were empty of human remains. Work continues on Pits 3 and 4 with workers visible in both Pits today. Pits 5 and 6 remain untouched. It is said that the highest concentration of remains are in Pit 5. Lambis was there as usual with his big warm smile, and yes, "all is good" Regards, Peter
