A fine memoir containing his letters from May 1916 until Setember 1918 when he was shot by a sniper near the Bapaume-Cambrai road

Agree, it’s a lovely book. I visited his grave a few years ago at Hermies Hill

http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_detail...casualty=300192 and was pleasantly surprised to find the grave of Brigadier General Roland Boys Bradford VC, MC at the smaller Hermies British Cemetery just across the road from Hermies Hill.

It’s a lovely area to visit.
