greetz,

I have a small pamphlet printed just before WWI, no date but the printers are Printers in Ordinary to His Majesty and to Queen Alexandra which I would place before WWI.

Poor quality printing but If you want them you're welcome to them, One page {small} of Belgian ranks and four of uniforms,

Nothing special but a start!

If you want them, send a private message to safe putting your email on view to the world and his wife,

WF

Jeroen, bill,

Here's a thread from a while back with information concerning the book you seek, with credit to JamesH and bill54.

http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/i...p?showtopic=471

Handbook of the Belgian Army 1906/14 Imperial War Museum /Battery Press. ISBN 1-901623-07-6 or

0-89839-281-0. Text only. 1998 reprint of British Army report on Belgian Army.

Incidentlly bill, you offered your assitance then as well, very kind.

Note the original post date and the replys span 6 years...history is never too old...

Hope it helps,

Jim

Try this for now, I don't believe that there is any copyright issues, certainly non with the rank chart I did.

If someone is able to pass on the scans I don't have a problem sending them on to you.

I hope these are of use to you

Regards

WF

Just a few details that sometimes gets over looked, and may be of use if you wish to expand on the WWI ranks worn by the Belgian Army.

Could also be worth a few bonus points to you by filling it out with a bit more detail.

In December 1915 the Belgium Corps Expéditionnaire Belge des Auto-Cannons-Mitrailleuse.

The Russian Military prescribed the following Russian rank badges to be worn:

Belgian Aspirant – Russian Praporshik [Ensign],

Belgian Sous Lieutenant – Russian Podporushik [2nd Lieutenant],

Belgian Lieutenant – Russian Poruchik [Lieutenant],

Belgian Capitaine Commandant – Russian Kapitan [Captain],

Belgian Major – Russian Podpolkovnik [Lieutenant Colonel]

Also the other ranks wore the Russian volunteer cork on their shoulder strap.

In 1918 they returned to Belgium via China, crossing into China on the 27th March 1918.

The unit was disbanded on the 15th July 1918.

It may not be of much use but you may find it an interesting side line.

Regards

WF
