Can't see anyone likely in the overseas deaths lists.

Possibly a "missing" amongst dominion troops but looks a non-starter without some more information.

I think the following is your man:

Name: GOODE, FRANK

Initials: F

Nationality: United Kingdom

Rank: Private

Regiment/Service: Seaforth Highlanders

Unit Text: 1st Bn.

Age: 21

Date of Death: 22/02/1917

Service No: S/11489

Additional information: (Served as SMITH), Son of George and Elizabeth Goode.

Grave/Memorial Reference: Panel 37 and 64.

Memorial: BASRA MEMORIAL

He served under the alias Frank Smith. However, between the date of death and the 1901 census details fitting with the family info given in his CWGC entry, I believe he is the man named on the headstone:

Name: Oswald Goode

Age: 5

Relation: Son

Father's Name: George

Mother's Name: Elizabeth

Where born: Manchester, Lancashire, England

Ecclesiastical parish: Manchester St Georges Fields

Household Members:

Name/Age

George Goode/37

Elizabeth Goode/37

George Victor Goode/12

Lilian Goode/9

Ada Goode /7

Oswald Goode/5

Emma Goode/2

Anne Goode/3 months

Cheers,

Stuart
