It is 12704 Cpl William James Creevy 15th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles died on 28/06/17 Plot. 2"u"J15. Many thanks in advance. abodkin58 Posted 17 October , 2022 Share Posted 17 October , 2022 “The death has taken place at Hartlepool of Corporal Wm J Creevy, Royal Irish Rifles, who succumbed to an attack of acute pneumonia while engaged on munition work. Deceased who was buried on the 1st inst, enlisted in the 15th Batt Royal Irish Rifles at the outbreak of war, and after a period of service at the front was sent to a government factory in England. He was a member of the North Belfast Regiment UVF and prior to the war was a fitter at the Queen’s Island. He was a well-known footballer, and one of the original members of the Ligoniel Club. He was also at different periods connected with the Linfield and Glentoran organisations. His mother, Mrs Rea, Cairn Buildings, Ballysillan, lost her husband (HMS Invincible) in the battle of Jutland.” [Belfast Weekly Telegraph, 14th July 1917].
