I have the book "Under the Shadow." Letters from Captain Hugh Wallace Mann 7th & 5th Battalions The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders. (192 pages.)

Just under half the book contains letters written to his girlfriend between 1911 and 1914. He marries her in October 1914 and, on the same day, he joins the Lochiel's Camerons. The remainder of the book contains letters to his wife from this time until his death in No 3 General Hospital Le Treport on 12th November 1917. He served at Loos, Arras and Passchendaele.
