CWGC added the following 'new' WW1 casualties to its Debt of Honour database today – Tuesday 28th April.

Pte Percy William HARDING

88159 1st Bn, Welch Regiment

Died 02.03.20 Age 24

Commemoration: Kirkee 1914-1918 Memorial, India

Pte Henry PLATT

223 6th Bn, South Staffordshire Regiment

Died 05.05.21 Age 17

Buried: Wolverhampton Borough Cemetery, Staffs, UK

NOT FORGOTTEN

Pte HARDING is an ‘In From the Cold Project’ case.

He was accidentally drowned in the River Sutlej, near Ferozepore, India and his body was never recovered.

(Volunteer: Steve Morse)

Pte PLATT was put forward on 03.03.09 following the thread here

http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/i...72&hl=platt

He was originally a commemorated casualty and has a CWGC headstone but he was deleted from the records for now unknown reasons many years ago. His death certificate proved his membership of the forces and his entitlement to commemoration. His case was resubmitted to CWGC/MoD and his reinstatement is approved. A GWF joint effort!

It's good to see Platt up there.

Although not a Shropshire casualty, fourm member Roy Evans, passed the information on to me at a South Staffs Meeting.

Raising a glass to the memory of Percy & Henry. Raising another to all those connected with bringing them in from the cold.
