any idea how long it takes from asking the CWGC about puting an age and

inscription on a stone in a Belgium Cemetery

Not quite sure what you mean.

CWGC do not routinely add anything to their inscriptions unless an error has been made - and then only after satisfactory proof has been given.

Many headstones do not bear ages as the next-of-kin did not supply it on their Final Verification Form. CWGC does not normally just add an age.

If by inscription, you mean the Personal Inscription at the bottom of a headstone, they will still add one occassionaly but only at the request of an immediate relative and only if one was not refused when first offered after the war.

However, if they have agreed to amend a stone, it is a piece of string. It can take a few months or a few years depending on their work schedules for the location, the type of amendment and many other issues.

thanks for the info

the reason I asked is that its my grandfathers grave and after some research

I wanted an age and a bottom inscription,I sent off this info some 2months ago

and wondered how long I might have to wait for fruition

PS also sent all the info I have to provide
