Hebuterne Map

Hi,

I hope somebody can help.

My Great Uncle, 16507 Pte Robert Bartle Jenkins, of the 5th South Wales Borderers was killed in action on 18th February 1917, along with 4 comrades.

I spent yesterday at the Regimental Museum, reading the Battalion Diaries, and have found out he was originally posted to 6th Btn, but transferred to the 5th.

Also, he is listed as being in C Company, but was in B Company when he died.

Neither he, nor his comrades have a grave, but are listed on the Thiepval memorial.

The only information I have, is that B Company were at Flagswitch "Deepening and clearing a trench" when he was killed. This was near Hebuterne, but exactly where, I have no clue. I have tried the usual searches, but to no avail.

I hope someone out there can help me - it is much appreciated.
