It's taken me quite a long time to prove that Pte Gamble of the Sherwood Foresters was a casualty during the Great War. So I felt great pride when confirmation came in the form of a letter from the CWGC today, it stated that his name will be added to the list of fallen on the Menin Gate sometime in the future. Pte Gamble was killed at Sanctuary Wood on the 9th August 1915 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion and he came from Leicester. I have been the custodian of his Great War medals for twenty years or more and its an honour to have got him remembered after all these years. BRONNO.
