Havrincourt Posted 28 March , 2009 Share Posted 28 March , 2009 I am not sure if this site has been linked before, but here goes. The Hansard index shows records of questions asked in the houses of parliament, just click on the year and find some very interesting articles...Somme losses, underage recruits, POW treatment etc http://hansard.millbanksystems.com/sittings/1910s Andy
Bardess Posted 28 March , 2009 Share Posted 28 March , 2009 Thanks for a brilliant link Andy. Bookmarked for later consumption. Who would have thought that this would be a problem then? Diane
Havrincourt Posted 29 March , 2009 Author Share Posted 29 March , 2009 Hello Diane Yes, if they could only see what is happening today. I have only read some parts of the site, but have found many interesting topics, the questions about youngsters not being trained for trench warfare is just one Andy

Ivor Lee Posted 3 April , 2009 Share Posted 3 April , 2009 One tip - do not stop at 1918. Some of the questions asked after the war are very interesting, especially those about demobilsation and the conditions men lived and worked under during 1919 in France. Moonraker Posted 3 April , 2009 Share Posted 3 April , 2009 A few years ago, I spent hours searching through the printed indexes and reports and in just ten minutes of idly playing around on the website have found references that I missed. Thanks, Andy. Moonraker
