Dannemois Posted 12 March , 2009 Share Posted 12 March , 2009 According to David Fletcher in "The British Tanks, 1915-19", only one of the travelling tank banks (141 - Egbert) had seen combat. Does anyone know the movement of this tank, when on display in the towns for "Tank Week" and how much it raised. Would there be a list of the soldiers who accompanied the tank? Any details appreciated.

All the touring tanks appeared in various towns and cities for a number of different fund raising events and sometimes for more that a week and again sometimes for much less. The touring period lasted from Nov 1917 to Nov 1918 so a lot of places got visited. In some cases a tank would use a particular city as a base for about a week but use the railway to make day trips to satellite towns. There is already a lot on the forum - try searches on Egbert, Tank Bank etc.
