Online copy of the "The Signal Service in the European War of 1914-1918 (France)" by Major R E Priestley, published about 1921 on the American Libraries Archive site - http://www.archive.org/details/signalserviceine00prie

Excellent link thanks, my hat off to anybody that gets more than a third of the way through! This is an extraordinarily detailed book.

These PDF books are useful, because they allow searching, which has never been available before.

Here is my web page about the author, Sir Raymond Priestley. An interesting man himself, and an ex Antarctic explorer.

Hi Guy,

No problem. What is also interesting is page 4 where it mentions that this is one of a series on the Royal Engineers. the others being Water Supply in France, Bridging, Suppy of Engineers Stores and Equipment, with Mining, Egypt-Palestine Water Supply and Geology in preparation.

Yes there were others in the series, though by other authors.

I believe that the SS France has also been reprinted by the N&MP, if you need or want an affordable bound copy.
