TTHG Posted 15 February , 2009 Share Posted 15 February , 2009 I am researching the effects of the Great War on the Home Front in Co Durham. Can anyone tell me anything about an airship landing site in Bishopton, near Stockton. Would such a site have a searchlight? What buildings would there be at such a site? Thanks for your help! Brian Curragh Posted 16 February , 2009 Share Posted 16 February , 2009 What buildings would there be at such a site? If the ABCT pointer is correct, there's nothing there now (Google Earth) Brian
old-ted Posted 16 February , 2009 Share Posted 16 February , 2009 TTHG See: http://www.abct.org.uk/page_509.html Dave Some interesting ground marks show up on the photo. Does that give any indication of building position/size etc? Will try to find it on Google Earth. Regards John
Brian Curragh Posted 16 February , 2009 Share Posted 16 February , 2009 John Google Earth doesn't show anything in that field - the aerial shot on the ABCT website does have some interesting markings though. Brian
