Chris_Baker Posted 13 February , 2009 Share Posted 13 February , 2009 I have elsewhere written of my study of the death of Bernard Fowler: http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/i...c=117002&hl= His death was officially accepted as being on 22 March 1918. I believe this date to be incorrect. His service record includes two independent eyewitness reports that state he died at or soon after 5.30pm on 23 March. His body was soon over-run by the German attack near Beugny and never found/identified. The unit war diary and British Official History both cover events and make it plain that he could not have been in the area described on 22 March. Would the reports in his service record suffice to make a change to his entry in the register of the Arras Memorial?
