soldier75 Posted 8 February , 2009 Share Posted 8 February , 2009 Hi, Has anyone done any research on men on the Blackburn Roll of Honour, this man has relatives in Widnes who are trying to find out what they can about him. I know he was killed in action on the Somme on 22/10/1916 and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, he was a member of the Machine Gun Corps infantry. He came from the Blackburn area but has family connections in Widnes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Harry
Guest Posted 8 February , 2009 Share Posted 8 February , 2009 His MIC says he was originally Pte 3/21163 Lancashire Fusiliers, and entered theatre of war 2B on 15/11/1915. Check the long long trail top left, you will probably find which theatre 2B is . Cheers Mike Edit: Just had a quick look, 2B is Gallipoli.

Guest Posted 11 February , 2009 Share Posted 11 February , 2009 To be honest, I don't know what the prefix 3 means. Am sure someone here will know. It's probably covered in the Long Long trail site, top left of screen. Cheers Mike
