Does anyone know if George William Howard, the skipper of HM Trawler Remindo (sunk 2/2/1918) was from Maldon, Essex?

Many thanks.

SPN.

His probate record is on Ancestry:

I am away from access to Ancestry but I suspect he should be in the database of Masters and Mates- and thus give background details from records of these groups- certificates, ships served, etc. from the Board of Trade.  RNR tended to recruit professional seamen officers  so it is highly likely he was pre-war Board of Trade registered.
