Can anybody name this identified Cpl. Royal Berkshire Regiment wearing Hospital Blues and DCM? Believe he must have had links with Hackney as this is where the photo was taken. Thank you for taking a look. Rosemarypost-39052-1232464895.jpg

Why not suggest that it could be more difficult than that ! He was probably taken there, to recover from his wounds/illness, as the nearest convenient hospital, though I didn't find any military hospital in Hackney on the Long Long Trail list !

There might be a way of narrowing down the search by searching for DCMs issued to Corporals in the R Berks, someone here might suggest how that could be done (London Gazette ?)

Thank you for your suggestions have taken on board all that you say. The photo taken in Hackney, but also the full photo, showing family members includes my late Grandmother seated on soldiers right side and she was born in Hackney and lived there all of her life. The Regimental Museum has been very helpful but difficult to pinpoint exact man hence GWF. Thanks again. Rosemary

Thank you Colin. Can I ask you why the 1/4th Berkshire Regt in particular? Was there something in the photo to suggest it?

Cheers! Rosemary
