Muerrisch Posted 17 March , 2004 Share Posted 17 March , 2004 Please let me know if you have examples of a soldier whose documents demonstrate that he was in receipt of Service Pay [that is, on top of his normal pay] in 1418. In theory, old soldiers [regulars only] who opted in 1906 to continue to receive it rather than the new Proficiency Pay could continue to have it [not both]. Soldiers enlisted after mid 1906 could not get Service Pay. My reading of the Pay Warrant and AOs may be wrong: a single soldier in 1914 retaing Service Pay would make me a happy man.
