Does anybody know which division S.H. Climo retired from after leading the Waziristan Field Force in India at the end of the war ?

Would appreciate any pointers.

Regards

Dave

Dave, I've looked in the 1928 Who's Who, and O'Moore Creagh/Humphris' DSO book, and no joy in either, I'm afraid. he did command the 30th Indian brigade under Townsend, that's all I can see; sorry.

I'm also interested in the man because of his Border Regiment connection.

There may just be a clue in the London Gazette Issue No 32467 page 7512, 26 September 1921.

Maj.-Gen. S. H. Climo, K.C.B., D.S.O., Ind. Army, to be Lt. -Gen., vice Lt. -Gen. R. Wapshare, K.C.I.E., C.B., C.S.I., Ind. Army, ret. 1st June 1921.

Col. H. O. Parr, C.M.G., Ind. Army, A.D.C., to .be Maj. -Gen., vice Maj.Gen. S. H. Climo, K.C.B., D.S.O., Ind. Army, promoted. 1st June 1921.

If Parr then commanded a Division, that Division may have been Climo's.

Please PM me if you get the anwer.

Woodyatt apparently moved to the Poona Division around the time of the 3rd Afghan armistice - so Climo may have had the Quetta Division - still checking.
